Work for Switchback
We are always keen to meet people who want to be part of the Switchback team. Please contact Alice at alice@switchback.org.uk to find out more.We do not take on volunteer mentors. Switchback Mentors are full-time, paid members of staff.
From time to time, we have unpaid opportunities for the roles of:
- Admin Volunteer (one day a week, helping with data entry and office work)
- Caseload Volunteer (one day a week, helping with researching opportunities for trainees and their families)
- Trustee
- Switchback Advisor
Provide opportunities
We work with a small number of trainees and a wide range of employers. To maximise the chances of success, we bring them together on a case-by-case basis, when the trainee is ready. If you are an employer who is keen to help, here are some things you can do:
- Offer to show one or more trainees around your establishment so that they can get a better understanding of the different working environments.
- Take on a trainee on an unpaid work placement.
- Ask one of our trainees to do one or more trial shifts with a view to filling a vacancy.
All we ask is that you agree to be added to our list of "willing" employers. We will only contact you if we have a trainee that might fit well with your organisation and then we take it from there. If you are happy to be added to this list, please get in touch .
Eat at the café
You can encourage trainees and support our partner charity, Crisis, by coming along to sample some of the delicious food in the Crisis Skylight café in Spitalfields, London. Let us know if youre coming and we'll come downstairs and say hello!"Since I started this, Ive changed. My friends say their lives are better too because Im so different."

Switchback Trainee
"Switchback are succeeding in helping people lead a responsible life. To do something constructive really makes a difference to these young people. They feel proud of themselves, their families feel proud of them and everything improves. That means everybody wins - we get a safer society and there are fewer victims."
